Nabolom

The House of the Jaguar in San Cristobal de las Casas is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the cultures and ecology of the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico, in particular the Lacandon indigenous group.. Following the tradition initiated by Gertrude Duby, Na Bolom also offers rooms for guests. Each one of the 16 hotel rooms is an extension of the museum, decorated individually with old furniture, artwork, textiles and photographs from the indigenous villages of Chiapas. The on-site museum and library are both open to guests and visitors daily.

The goal is to create a village which provides a secure home, a loving family and a hopeful future to Guatemalan children in need. The vision is to build a village that will be ecologically and financially sustainable. The long term goal is to replicate this initial village in other locations.

Vancouver Latin American Film Festival

The VLAFF has the distinction of being the largest and longest-running festival of solely Latin American cinema in Canada. VLAFF showcases perspectives of Latin American cultures through new full-length feature films, documentaries and shorts films.
